Skidaway Island State Park

The marshes of Skidaway Island State Park in Savannah, GAThis park is on a barrier island just off Savannah, GA. On our way to Amelia Island for vacation we stopped there to have a picnic.

Trey was excited to get out of the car and onto a playground. Before hiking one of their nature trails we stopped in the “interpretive center” (I can only figure they call them that because they interpret the origins of our natural world much differently than me). A park ranger was doing a talk on alligators and had a live baby gator that the kids got to touch. There was also a fossil replica of a giant sloth – for some reason, Trey refused to look at it and would cover his eyes every time passed it.
